On September 11, members of the Excelsior Fire District participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Life Time Chanhassen.
Nearly 20 climbers from Chanhassen Fire Department, Excelsior Fire District, St Bonifacius Fire Department and Waconia Fire Relief Association participated, with 10 of them representing our own Excelsior crew! Our group ranged in age from 21 to 69, and every single one completed all 110 flights of stairs. #soproud
The 110 flights represent the height of the World Trade Center towers and are a way to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
It was a tough climb, but a meaningful way to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
