The Excelsior Fire District provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, community awareness, hazardous materials mitigation and disaster response utilizing a combination fire service. We are staffed with 42 members, including one full time position: Fire Chief and three part time positions: Fire Inspector (2) and an Administrative Specialist. We are a joint powers unit of government supported by the cities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, and Tonka Bay.
Our major resources include: 2 Fire Stations, a 65ft. Aerial Ladder, 3 Engines/Pumpers, 1 Tanker, 1 Heavy Rescue vehicle, 2 light rescue vehicle, 1 ATV, 1 grass rig/light rescue vehicle, a Hazmat Trailer, 3 rescue/fire suppression boats, and a number of command/staff vehicles. Other key resources include: thermal imaging devices, 5-inch diameter supply hose, Class A foam, Integrated PASS/SCBA, Opti-com signal controls at all semaphores, air monitors and automatic defibrillators.
